A Song Of Praise From A Grateful Heart

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: ‘’The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior -- from violent people you saved me.
‘’I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies.
The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God.
From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came to His ears.  . . .
‘’He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.
2 Samuel 22:1-7; 17-20
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.
He is my stronghold
He is my shield
He is my salvation
He is worthy of Praise

These are the words of David. These are the words of a very grateful man as He reflected over the many things God had done for him. He reflected over salvation from his enemies. He reflected over rescue from death and destruction. He reflected over how God brought him out into a spacious place. David was deeply grateful. He worshiped God out of deep gratitude.
Genuine worship can only spring forth from a deeply grateful heart. Without gratitude, our worship will be contrived.

Do you want your worship to touch the heart of God? Then genuinely reflect over how God saved you from a life that was bound for hell and gave you His Holy Spirit to lead and guide you through life. Think of the divine protection you enjoy. Think of how He may have healed you, saved your marriage; blessed you with a great job; saved you from the hand of your enemies; kept your business alive; protected your children; answered your many prayers and prospered you. Such reflections can only cause true worship to bubble out of you! Gratitude is the foundation for true worship. When we are truly grateful for what God has done for us, we will gladly worship Him with our Time, Talents and Treasures in a very generous manner!

Prayer: Lord, I am eternally grateful for the countless blessings you have bestowed on my life. Please accept my worship from a deeply grateful heart. My Time, Talents and Treasures deserve to be poured out in worship at your feet.
