Your Weeping Will not last Forever

I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
O LORD, you brought my soul from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing praises to the LORD, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:1-5 NKJV

David has a reason to praise the Lord.
It appears God brought him out of a sickness that could have ended his life.
God brought him out of a situation that was tantamount to being pulled out of the grave.
God answered his cry and did not give his enemies the joy of rejoicing over him.
There are two things that we can reflect upon.
First: God does answer prayer.
No matter how challenging the situation might be, God graciously hears us when we cry out to Him. God gives us comfort with these words in Psalm 50:15, “...call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you will honor me.”
God does deliver. God does answer prayer. God does heal.
Like David, would you take a moment to reflect over God’s goodness to you and praise Him?
Second: Our troubles will not last forever.
David reminds us that trouble or weeping is like a visitor who stays only for the night.
Weeping leaves in the mourning and joy enters.
Regardless of what pains, disappointments, or trouble you may find yourself in, don’t give up hope. Remind yourself that the Lord will bring you through.
Your weeping will not last forever. Joy will replace your tears.
