May God Exceed Your Expectations
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20
I am not sure of what you might be grappling with today. I am not sure of what unmet needs you may have. I am not sure of what unfulfilled visions and expectations you may be pondering over. I am not sure of how long you may have been waiting for the answer to your prayer. I may not even be able to relate to the pain of whatever disappointments you might have encountered. I am not sure of how long you have been shedding tears before the Lord. But the Lord knows and He understands how you feel.
God's word declares in Proverbs 13:12 that "hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy. The Holy Spirit of God who dwells in you knows that long delays can bring discouragement to the heart; but when dreams are fulfilled, it brings life and joy. God is not unaware of how you feel.
As God on earth, Jesus experienced all there is for humanity to experience. Hebrews 4:15 says "we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses."
Because Jesus has a first-hand experience of our needs and feelings, the Bible says we should "approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Be encouraged as you go before the Lord. He is able to do much more than we could ever imagine. He is able to exceed our expectations by doing "exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or think." God did exceedingly abundantly for Joseph when He moved him overnight out of the depressive prison and made him Prime Minister of Egypt. God is able to do the same for you. God has not changed. His faithfulness remains the same.
May God surprise you. May He do exceedingly abundantly above all that you are asking from Him. May God exceed your expectations!
