God Deserves To Be Praised.

Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous!
For Praise from the Upright is beautiful
Praise the LORD with the harp;
Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the LORD is right,
And all His work is done in truth.
He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
Psalm 33:1-5 NKJV

People who do not believe in God find absolutely no reason to praise Him.
To non-believers, the world was not created by God and life must be lived without God.
To non-believers humans are in control of their own destinies and all praise must be heaped on ourselves!

But as Believers in God, we have a different perception of life. We know that humans cannot take any credit or praise for ourselves; for our very existence and accomplishments are due to the grace and mercies of God. As the scripture says, “in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).

With that in mind, the Psalmist enjoins the righteous to praise the LORD; for praise from the upright is beautiful. Not only should we praise the LORD, but we must do so with rejoicing. Rejoicing in the LORD reminds us of the wonderful deeds of our God.

We rejoice because the Word of our God is right. His Word is right because following it gives us peace, protection and guidance. We must rejoice in our praise because all the work of God is done in truth. There is absolute righteousness and judgment in the LORD. This means we can be assured that God will justly defend our cause. Finally, we should rejoice because the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. We have so much to enjoy on this earth because God has provided so bountifully for us in the richness of all the resources we have at our disposal!
God deserves our praise for His goodness.

All this copious praise must be done not haphazardly, but with great skill on varied instruments!
Would you reflect over the goodness of God and take time to praise Him!

TODAY'S PRAYER
LORD, I praise you today!
