True Worship

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you. Take your everyday life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him.
Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God. You will be changed from the inside out.
Readily recognize what He wants from you and quietly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you.      Romans 12:1-2 (The message Bible).

These words are more readily recognized as:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing God - this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:1-2 (NIV).

As children of God, the whole focus of our lives is to worship God with every aspect of our lives.
True Worship means we present or prostrate our whole life before God and totally seek to do what brings Him pleasure.

True worship involves every aspect of our lives:
Our Time: the seconds, minutes, hours, days and years we have.
Out Talents: the gifts and abilities we have.
Our Treasures: the money, resources and possessions we have.

So, just as the message Bible says, truly worshiping God means we take our everyday life - our sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life - and place it as an offering before God.
True worship means we don’t become conformed to the dictates of the culture around us but we fix our attention on pleasing God and God only. True worship means we recognize what God wants from us and we quietly respond to it as a routine part of our lives. We just live that way.

Question: When the Holy Spirit examines you, does He find you to be a true worshiper of God?
Is your everyday life lived to please God? So, what will happen if a Church became filled with true worshipers? How about if you and I decided consciously that we will live our everyday lives as worship unto God? How about if pleasing God became second nature to us?

Jesus reminds us that the Father is seeking True Worshipers. May you and I be True Worshipers who bring pleasure to the heart of God. God is looking for True Worship.

Prayer: Lord, please help me to present my everyday life as a True Worshiper. Amen
