Beyond All Expectations
One day, Peter and John were going to the temple at the time of prayer - at three in the afternoon.
Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
Peter looked straight at him as did John; Then Peter said, “Look at us.!”
So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have, I give to you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”...
He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, jumping and praising God… Acts 3:1-8

The beggar was only hoping to get some money. At the age of forty plus, all he knew was the life of a beggar. His whole life centered around a routine of begging to survive from day to day.
He was totally helpless and was dependent on the kindness of others to stay alive.
When he saw Peter and John, he was only hoping to get a few pennies from them. His expectations were very limited, but God had a surprise for him. Something beautiful happened to him at the Beautiful Gate. God took the beggar beyond all expectations!
He received what silver and gold could never buy. He received the ability to walk for the first time in his life! He received his dignity back.
Best of all, he became a follower of Jesus in whose name he had been healed.
The Bible gives us an amazing assurance: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us. To Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21). God did exceedingly abundantly above all that the beggar could have imagined!
Just as the crippled man received more than he expected, believe that God will take you beyond all your expectations. Believe that today is your last day of sitting at the Beautiful Gate.
Believe that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you are asking or thinking.
Believe that God will restore whatever the locusts have eaten from your life.
Believe that your future is brighter than your past.
Believe that your drought will come to an end.
Believe that you will rise up and shine to the glory of God.
May God cause your life to exceed your expectations.
