Believe, Pray and Fight For The Promise
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, the “Amen” is said by us to the glory of God. “ 2 Corinthians 1:20
God has made numerous promises in the Bible that are meant to bring transforming blessings into our lives as we walk obediently with Him.
But, for these promises to become realities, certain things must happen. Here are three of them:
First: We must believe the Promise.
Jesus said, “All things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23).
The promises of God must be activated by faith in the God of the Promise. We must believe that it is impossible for God to lie as the Scripture makes so abundantly clear. Armed with faith in our faithful God, we can activate His promises into reality in our lives as we live obediently for Him.
When the angel Gabriel told the virgin Mary that she was going to conceive, he assured her that “With God, nothing will be impossible.” Mary’s response was: ”Let it be to me according to your word.” Mary believed and the Promise was fulfilled.
When Mary visited Elizabeth and told her about the angelic visitation, Elizabeth underscored Mary’s faith by saying, “Blessed is she who has believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” If we believe, we will see a fulfillment.
Second: We must pray intensively for the Promises to be fulfilled. Prayer, coupled with faith, will cause the impossible to become possible. Daniel was thrown into the lion's Den for his relentless prayers but God shut the mouth of the lions because Daniel was a man of prayer and had faith in the God who answers prayer. Notable victory always comes with a great toil of prayer. The Promises of God must be wrestled into reality through much prayer.
The record of Scripture speaks quite poignantly to this: “O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night continually. Take no rest, all who pray to the LORD. Give the LORD no rest until He completes His work, until He makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.” (Isaiah 62:6-7). If the promises of God are to become realities in our lives, then we must give ourselves no rest and give God no rest as we pray relentlessly for their fulfillment. We must pray passionately until God completes His work.
Third: The Promises of God will only become realities in our lives if we work hard to attain them.
We cannot fold our arms and expect the promises to drop on us. The Israelites had to fight to possess the Promised Land. Nehemiah had to work hard to rebuild the Wall of Jerusalem. Even Jesus had to work hard to preach the Gospel and save humanity.
The Promises of God are true but we must believe, pray and fight for them through hard work.
May God watch over His Word to fulfill it in your life. Pray, believe and fight through hard work.

Prayer: Lord, I ask for grace to believe, pray and fight for your Promises to become my reality.
