When The Plot Thickens, Don't Be Afraid
Then Haman said to King Xerxes, "There is a certain people dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom who keep themselves separate. Their customs are different from those of all other people, and they do not obey the king's laws; it is not in the king's best interest to tolerate them. If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will give ten thousand talents of silver to the king's administrators for the royal treasury."
So the king took his signet ring from his finger and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. "Keep the money," the king said to Haman, "and do with the people as you please."
Then on the thirteenth day of the first month, the royal secretaries were summoned. They wrote out in the script of each province and in the language of each people all Haman's orders to the king's satraps, the governors of the various provinces and the nobles of the various peoples. These were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring. Dispatches were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces with the order to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews -- young and old, women and children -- on a single day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. A copy of the text of the edict was to be issued as law in every province and made known to the people of every nationality so they would be ready for that day.
The couriers went out, spurred on by the king's command . . . The king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Susa was bewildered. Esther 3:8-15

If only we could catch a glimpse of what happens in the Spirit Realm where the enemy is furiously plotting our demise. If only we could see the anger raging in the hearts of agents of the enemy against God's children. These are real and even frightening things. When you are innocently going about your business, the enemy is filled with rage and hatred against you because you are a child of God determined to separate yourself for the Lord.
That is exactly what the Jews faced: "There is a certain people dispersed among the provinces in all your kingdom who keep themselves separate. Their customs are different from those of all other people . . . It is not in the king's best interest to keep them . . . let a decree be issued to destroy them." The plot was thickening but so was the heavenly defense.
The Jews, God's chosen children, were determined to honor the laws of God even in the land of captivity to which they had been forcibly exiled. Under the pretext that this was not in the best interest of the king, Haman convinced King Xerxes to issue a decree for every Jew -- man and woman, boy and girl to be killed and their possessions plundered.
The Jewish people were to be wiped out in all the provinces in a single day because of the hatred of one man against them.
Having meticulously planned and nurtured his heinous plans, Haman sat down with the king to drink. He must have been very confident that it was all over for the people of God! But was it?
You see: The truth is, God is always working behind the scenes to protect His children. God was not asleep and he had the power to intervene and overthrow the plans of Haman, and He did!
Listen: Do not be afraid. Be confident that God is aware of every plot against you and He will come to your defense. When the plot thickens against you, stand still and see the deliverance of the Lord your God! God is always in control. He will never leave you to the destructive plans of the enemy!

Prayer: Father, I might not know all that is going on behind the scenes against my life. But that is rather immaterial because I am totally confident that you will fight every battle on my behalf.
Thank you, Father. Amen.
