God Will Multiply You
"Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD;
Look to the Rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah who gave you birth.
When I called him he was only one man, and I blessed him and made him many."
The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins;
He will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD.
Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
Isaiah 51:1-3

What a promise to those who have purposed to seek God and live righteously! The LORD is giving us the assurance that He has blessings in store for us. The LORD is asking us to look at the testimony of Abraham's life and be encouraged. God is reminding us that He is a God of multiplication. He called Abraham when his wife Sarah was barren and they had no children. But God multiplied and blessed them and they became the father and mother of many.
The truth is: There are times when we wonder whether living righteously and seeking God is really worth it. There are times when we wonder whether God will come through for us! We wonder whether we will ever see some multiplication in our lives! But God is reminding us that He has the power to bless and make us many. He multiplied Abraham and Sarah even in their old age. He can still multiply us. He is the same God we serve. His heart is the same!
God is saying: He will comfort and show you compassion; He will even cause your "desert conditions" and the "wastelands" in your life to blossom like the Garden of Eden! He is saying: "Joy and gladness will be found in your life and there will be thanksgiving and the sound of singing."
So, are you truly pursuing righteousness and seeking God? Then press on and continue to trust Him. His ways are perfect and His timing is different from yours. He knows the plans He has for you. His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. His plans are to give you hope and a future. God will multiply you. Take heart and stand on that promise. That is His word to you!

Prayer: Father, I thank you that in your own time you make all things beautiful. I thank you for your promise that my weeping may endure for a night but joy will come forth in the morning. I am confident that you can turn my "desert conditions" and "wastelands" into a blossoming desert like Eden. I am certain that I will see your goodness in the land of the living. I will wait patiently on you. Amen.
