To God Be The Glory
So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.
When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God…
After the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers, the musicians and the Levites were appointed. I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do. Nehemiah 6:15-7:2

The Bible makes it clear that: "God can do anything, you know -- far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us. (Ephesians 3:20 Message Bible). That is the nature and the power of our awesome God! Our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or imagine according to His power that is at work in us. We can do incredible things as we yield to the Spirit of God living in us!
The vision for rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem and repairing the burnt gates was placed in the heart of Nehemiah by the Almighty God. Nehemiah embraced the vision. God supplied the favor and resources needed by Nehemiah to accomplish the task. God protected the vision from numerous enemy attacks. God gave strength to the people when they got weary with the work.
God galvanized and united the people to work as one. God enabled Nehemiah to identify false prophets who had come as supporters of the vision but were secretly working for the enemies of the Jews. God kept Nehemiah from sinning and undercutting his moral authority to lead. God helped them accomplish the task of rebuilding in the rather incredible short span of fifty-two days. It was all God working through man! Nehemiah was merely a yielded vessel for God.
This incredible feat could only conclude on one fitting note: "When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God…" Even the enemies and detractors of the Jews recognized that all the glory belonged to God! Nehemiah also ensured that a God-fearing leader, Hananiah along with Hanani had been put in charge of Jerusalem "because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do." The vision had to be protected by God-fearing people for generations yet unborn to benefit from it as well. It was started by God, finished by God and had to be protected by godly people.
When it's all said and done, may the vision you have in your heart be completed successfully, and may even your enemies recognize that the hand of God has accomplished this. May God bring you godly people of integrity to help protect and sustain the vision. To God be the glory!

Prayer: Father, to You, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit be the glory for the great things you have done through my life. Amen.
