Believe and Be Blessed
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
John 20:24-29

Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance of the tomb and The Lord was not there. She told two of the disciples who also went to see the empty tomb. Jesus appeared to Mary and later to the disciples but Thomas was not with them. When the disciples told Thomas that Jesus was risen and that they had seen him, he said to them "Unless I see the nails . . . I will not believe."
Thomas' statement is followed by a very important response from Jesus. "Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
There is a blessing for those who have not seen The Lord with their own eyes and yet believe. Those who have placed their faith in Him and believe in what The Lord says, although we may not have seen the whole picture yet. In fact, this response from Jesus places believers, those who put their faith in Him, in a special position and makes them "blessed."
God calls us to a life of faith, to believe and trust Him totally even when we haven't seen everything. " . . . But my righteous one will live by faith." Hebrews 10:38.
A life of faith will place you in the path of blessedness and as Jesus said in Mark 9:23, "Everything is possible for one who believes."
Abraham believed the word spoken to him by God and was truly blessed.
"And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend." James 2:23
If Jesus says you are blessed, you will be blessed. Have faith and believe Him. God will always fulfill His Word.
You will never be disappointed if you place your trust, faith, and belief in God, even when you are not seeing what God's up to.
For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 1 Peter 2:6

Prayer: Lord, I do believe; help me to overcome my disbelief, so that all the blessings you have for my life will be mine. Amen.
