Take Some Time to Praise God
LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
And crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
You put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the
birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the path of the seas.
LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8, NIV).

LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8, NIV).
David is a master at praising God! No wonder God called him a man after God's own heart!
Even when he was in distress, surrounded by enemies, David always found a way to praise God! He never allowed his sorrows to drown his praise!
In this Psalm, David is simply looking at the marvels of creation and he praises God.
He is overwhelmed by it all and concludes that God's majesty is proclaimed throughout the earth as evidenced by creation. So, "LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth."
David reminds us that we should praise God because He made us a little lower than the angels (God Himself) and He has graciously put the entirety of creation under the care of man.
God is mindful of us and has crowned us with honor.
But David also gives us an important insight into the power of praise. He reminds us that praise has the power to act as a stronghold against the enemy and to silence the foe and the avenger. This power of praise is released even when it comes from children and infants.
Challenge: Will you take some time to praise God? Think of God's majesty and praise Him! Think of the fact that He created you in His own image and made you a little lower than the angels and praise Him! Think of the fact that He has given humanity rulership over all His creation and praise Him! Think of the fact that you have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and praise Him. Finally, think of the fact that your praise has the power to silence the foe and the avenger and praise Him! Take time to praise God all through the day. Praise the LORD.
