David Talks Frankly With God.

LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger
Or discipline me in your wrath.
Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint;
Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.
My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, LORD, how long?

Turn, LORD, and deliver me;
Save me because of your unfailing love.
Among the dead no one proclaims your name.
Who praises you from the grave?

I am worn out from my groaning.
All night long I flood my bed with weeping
And drench my couch with tears.
My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
They fail because of all my foes…

The LORD has heard my cry for mercy;
The LORD accepts my prayer.
All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish;
They will turn back and suddenly be put to shame. (Psalm 6:1-10, NIV).
David seems to be in agony so he engages in a frank talk with God.
He tells God that he is just tired -- he is faint!
David tells God that his bones are in pain and his soul is in anguish!
He is asking God how long he will languish in that painful condition.
David is worried about his foes.
His eyes are weak with sorrow from weeping all night long!

David then appeals to God to save him from his situation.
He reminds God that he will not be able to praise Him from the grave.
He is of no use to God in the grave!
Then, somehow, he seems to hear back from the LORD: "The LORD has heard my cry for mercy...All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish…"
There are times when life seems quite overwhelming and our souls are drenched with constant tears. Those are times when we should have a frank talk with God. We should let God know
exactly how we feel. Our caring God will not turn a deaf ear to our pleas. He will hear us.
Have a frank talk with God.
Prayer: Lord, I turn to you for strength, comfort, and endurance. Amen
