It is Unthinkable for God to Do Wrong
So listen to me, you men of understanding.
Far be it from God to do evil, for the Almighty to do wrong.
He repays everyone for what they have done; He brings on them what their conduct deserves.
It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice.
Who appointed him over the earth? Who put him in charge of the whole world?
If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust…
Can someone who hates justice govern?
Will you condemn the just and mighty One?...
His eyes are on the ways of mortals; he sees their every step…
He punishes them for their wickedness where everyone can see them,
Because they turned from following him and had no regard for any of his ways.
Job 34:10-27

One of the greatest unsettled questions among humans is the justice and timing of God. All through Scripture, we see God's servants grappling with this issue.
In Exodus, we read how God's children were subjected to hundreds of years of slavery before God sent Moses to redeem them and take them to the Promised Land.
The prophet Habakkuk asked God pointedly: "Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?" (Habakkuk 1:13).
In Psalm 73, Asaph writes: "This is what the wicked are like -- always free of care, they go on amassing wealth. Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence. All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments." (Psalm 73:12-14).
Looking around us we sometimes see how the powerful and greedy in society seem to get away with all kinds of atrocious acts because they have power and wealth. They can afford good lawyers whilst the poor and underprivileged are hauled off to languish in jail; sometimes even when innocent.
So we ask: How just is God in his actions? Can we accuse God of doing wrong because of what we see happening in society?
The answer is an absolute no! As stated above, "It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice."
In the end, in His own time and in His own way, God always comes through for the righteous and deals appropriately with the wicked.
Divine justice might take a while because God wants to give people the opportunity to repent from their evil ways. But He surely does bring justice! It is impossible for God to do wrong. We must trust His heart even when we can not fathom His ways.

Prayer: Father, I must confess that there are times when I simply cannot understand why the wicked seem to be getting away with all their unjust activities. Help me to trust in your righteous judgment even when I do not understand. Amen.
