God Rewards Our Obedience
"If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land."
"I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid.
. . . You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.
Five of you will chase a hundred and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful . . .
You will still be eating last year's harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. . . . I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people." Leviticus 26:3-12

What a picture of divine prosperity!
God wants to send us rain in its season and cause the ground to yield its crops and the trees its fruit. God wants our land to be so fruitful that we will keep harvesting last year's crops until it is time to plant new crops. He wants to grant peace in the land so we will lie down and not be afraid. He wants to make us so prosperous that we will have to move out last year's crops to make room for the new! He wants to establish His dwelling among us and make us His people.
This is a picture of total divine favor and prosperity.
The question is: How does all this become possible?
The answer is bundled in one simple word: Obedience. Obedience to the commands of God is the primary key to our blessings and prosperity.
God has made it clear that if we will walk with Him in total obedience, His blessings will come upon us and overtake us. We find this delivered both to the entire nation of Israel in Deuteronomy 28 and individually by way of personal application to Joshua, their leader.
God said to Joshua, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)
