Yes, There's A Mediator For Us!

"God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with Him or take Him to trial.
If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together.
The mediator could make God stop beating me, and I would no longer live in terror of His punishment.
Then I could speak to Him without fear, but I cannot do that in my own strength."
Job 9:32-35.

These words of Job speak to the deepest needs of humanity. We yearn to have a relationship with our Creator! Deep down our souls and consciences, we acknowledge that there is a God! Some might struggle with the idea, but the Bible makes it clear that eternity is set in the heart of humans (Ecclesiastes 3:11). When all is said and done, we need someone to serve as a bridge between us and the Transcendent God! We need someone to serve as a mediator between God and us. We need someone to bridge the gap between Heaven and earth. That was what Job needed. He needed someone to intercede on his behalf before God.

That mediator could bring God and Job together so that Job would no longer be afraid of this awesome and fearful God. Job acknowledged that his humanity precluded him from speaking to God in his own strength.

You and I are very blessed because God has solved that problem for humanity. In the fullness of time, God sent forth His own Son Jesus Christ to serve as the only acceptable mediator between humanity and divinity.

The Bible declares that "there is one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people. (1 Tim 2:5-6). This divine mediator makes it possible for us to go boldly before God's throne of grace knowing that we will find help in our time of need. (Heb 4:16). This is a reality and not just wishful thinking. Billions of people have accepted this opportunity and they have a real and fruitful relationship with God through Christ. They have found meaning and purpose in life. They have a mediator between themselves and God!

Do you have a relationship with this mediator? Then be confident that He is seated at the right hand of God the Father, speaking on your behalf ( Rom 8:34). If not, then He is inviting you to come to Him today. He is the only true mediator between man and God. Accept His invitation and watch Him transform your life as He guides you through the journey of life.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for Jesus. I thank you that He gave His life in exchange for mine through His death on the cross. I ask that you will help me reach out and bring others into a relationship with this wonderful mediator -- Jesus Christ. Amen.
