The Joy of Repentance
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night, your hand was heavy on me.; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:1-5

God desires that we cultivate a transparent relationship with Him. He has made provision through the confession of our sins to ensure that our relationship with Him will never be hindered. The Bible declares that if we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So how could David, the man after God’s own heart ignore his sin and commune with God whilst holding on to unconfessed sin? The result was a lack of peace. David groaned and wasted away. His insincerity with God sapped away his energy!
But when he finally acknowledged and confessed his sin, God forgave and cleansed him and his peace returned.
God knows our frame. He knows we are dust. He knows we are selfish and sinful so He has made provision for our continual cleansing in our relationship with Him.
There is so much peace and joy when we acknowledge our sins and ask God to cleanse us.
Like the Prodigal Son, God will throw His arms around us and love us.
Would you search your heart today and see what sins you might not have acknowledged to God? Would you genuinely confess them and ask for forgiveness?
Walk in the joy of repentance and forgiveness today. That is what God truly desires for our lives.
There is joy in repentance.

Prayer: Search me O God and know my heart today. See if there is any wicked way in me. Help me to acknowledge and repent from them. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
