Walk In The Power Of The Holy Spirit

On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift My Father promised, which you have heard Me speak about. For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit...But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8)

The presence of the Holy Spirit is vital to the life of God’s children and His Church.
The importance of the Holy Spirit is seen in the fact that Jesus specifically asked His disciples not to start ministering but to wait in Jerusalem until they had been baptized with the Holy Spirit.
The presence of the Holy Spirit would guarantee them the power to effectively undertake their ministry assignments and effectively witness to the entire world about Jesus. Under the power of the Holy Spirit, the disciples preached, healed and did many miracles.

Jesus himself taught effectively and worked miracles because of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
He declared in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”

The situation has not changed. If you and I are to function as true disciples of Jesus Christ, then we must function in the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit as well. In fact Jesus said He expects us to do greater works than He did; so it is imperative that we are totally submitted to the Holy spirit.

May the Holy Spirit of God overshadow your going out and your coming in. May He grant you the power, wisdom and grace to do exploits for the glory of God. May the impossible become possible for you because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in and upon you.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please fill and anoint me completely to undertake all that Jesus has for me to do for His glory. Please help me to totally submit to your leading and guidance.
I ask all this in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
