The Path to Success and Prosperity
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:7-8).
Joshua had everything going for him. He had been handpicked by God for leadership. He had received incredible education, practical training and experience. He was a skilled military commander. He had been around Moses for divine encounters. Joshua was all set to tackle his responsibilities with every conceivable qualification one could imagine. He was all set to succeed.
But not so fast. There was one vital element that needed to be present if Joshua was to know true success and prosperity - obedience to God 's word.
If you and I are going to have true success and prosperity, it will take much more than our education, skills, gifts and efforts; as important as those things are.
In the spirit realm, obedience to God's word is the surest path to success and prosperity. Obedience brings divine favor.
Do you want to know true success and prosperity? Then be unwaveringly obedient to God. It might be unpopular or even costly in the short run but you will be a true winner in the end.
In the end, God always wins. Don't disobey Him.
