Have Mercy on Me, O LORD
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways.
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of His covenant.
For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. (Psalm 25:6-11)

We have a covenant relationship with God which gives us access to divine love, mercy, grace, favor, and forgiveness. In times of affliction, sin or attacks from enemies, we can appeal to our covenant-keeping God. The Bible makes it clear that it is because of His mercies that we are not consumed. His compassions never fail; they are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.
Our God is compassionate and merciful. He is ever willing to cleanse and forgive.
Scripture tells us that He knows our frame and remembers that we are dust (Psalm 103:14).
God knows that there are many ways in which we falter and sin. He knows that there are times when our flesh gets the better part of us. He truly understands our humanity. No matter how terrible the sin, God is willing to forgive us "for the sake of His name."
Are there things that you need to confess before God? God is loving and faithful because of His covenant with us through Jesus Christ.
Ask Him for mercy today. Your plea will not fall on deaf ears.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for my covenant relationship with you through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I confess that I do fall short of your word in many ways. Please forgive and cleanse me. Have mercy on me for you are kind, loving and faithful. I ask this in Jesus' Name.
Amen.
