God Is Too Marvelous To Understand!

. . . But how can a person be declared innocent in God's sight?
If someone wanted to take God to court, would it be possible to answer Him even once in a thousand times?
For God is so wise and so mighty.
Who has ever challenged Him successfully?
Without warning, He moves the mountains, overturning them in His anger.
He shakes the earth from its place, and its foundations tremble.
If He commands it, the sun won't rise and the stars won't shine.
He alone has spread out the heavens and marches on the waves of the sea.
He made all the stars -- the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the southern sky.
He does great things too marvelous to understand.
He performs countless miracles.   Job 9:1-10

In his grief, perplexed by why he, a righteous person, was experiencing such woes and reversal of fortunes, Job tries to reflect over the marvel of God.
Righteous though he was, Job was wondering if anyone could truly be declared innocent in God's sight. He wonders whether anyone can actually succeed against God in court.
What legal arguments could a mortal being mount against the Almighty God?
These are deep reflections.

The truth is, apart from Christ, we have no righteous standing before God because what we consider as our righteousness is like filthy rags before God! (Isaiah 64:6)  Job is absolutely right! We can't win against God in court on any merit whatsoever!

Having admitted this, Job ponders the marvelous ways of God.
He concedes that God is so wise and mighty; God is sovereign and all nature answers to His commands; God is the maker of the stars and all the constellations. If God so chooses, He could even command the Sun not to rise and the Moon not to shine!
Job arrives at the only reasonable conclusion he could think of: God performs countless miracles and does things too marvelous to understand!

Take solace today. The God who controls the entire universe can perform a miracle in your situation. He can do things in your personal life that are simply too marvelous to understand!
