Jesus: The LIving God.

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
I Corinthians 15:14

Today is Easter, the day on which Jesus arose from the grave.
Today marks, perhaps, the most important day in the life of every Christian precisely because of the statement above: “If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” The Church celebrates joyfully at Easter because of the resurrection of Jesus. Paul reminds us in the above passage that the resurrection of Jesus is the very foundation of our Christian faith. If Christ had remained in the grave, there would have been no basis for the Christian faith.

It would have meant that all the teachings of Jesus would have proved to be baseless. It would have meant that no word of His could be trusted.

But Scripture records these words in Matthew 28:5-6, “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” In other words, Jesus kept His word!
So, the good news is: Jesus did not remain in the grave! He rose from the grave just as He promised His disciples. Jesus is alive and because He lives, you and I have hope for tomorrow! The resurrection means we serve a living; not a dead God!

So, let’s celebrate our Risen Savior! Let’s celebrate because we can put our faith completely in His Word. Let’s celebrate because our faith is not in vain.
Let’s celebrate the fact that because He lives, we have hope both for now and the future.
Jesus is alive and because He lives, we can count on His manifest presence to be with us in every situation of life!

Prayer: Father, I thank you that because Jesus is alive, I can live with hope. Amen!
