God Sees; God Hears; God Knows.

"People cry out when they are oppressed.
They groan beneath the power of the mighty.
"Yet they don't ask, 'Where is God my Creator, the one who gives songs in the night?
Where is the one who makes us smarter than the animals and wiser than the birds of the sky?'
And when they cry out, God does not answer because of their pride.
But it is wrong to say God doesn't listen,
To say the Almighty isn't concerned.
You say you can't see him,
But he will bring justice if you will only wait.
You say he does not respond to sinners with anger and is not greatly concerned about wickedness.
But you are talking nonsense, Job.
You have spoken like a fool." Job 35:9-16 NLT

"You say he does not respond to sinners with anger and is not greatly concerned about wickedness. But you are talking nonsense, Job."

When groaning under the weight of pain inflicted by the twists and turns of life, it is natural for us to wonder whether God sees our situation. We wonder if God is listening to our groaning. We wonder if God is at all concerned! We wonder if God is concerned about the plight of the oppressed and whether He is concerned about sin and wickedness. That seems to be what Job was grappling with. Elihu reminded Job that God sees it all!

Growing up as a child, we had a painting at home captioned: "God sees; God Hears; God knows." For us as children, it was a deterrent to remind us to desist from doing mischievous things because God sees, hears, and knows everything.

The truth is: God is all-seeing and all-knowing. The Bible tells us that He knows the very number of hairs on our head and not even a sparrow falls on the ground without His knowledge. One songwriter says: "His eyes are on the sparrow and He watches over me."

Yes, in your time of pain and discomfort, it is natural to wonder whether God actually sees and knows your situation. It is normal to wonder if God is concerned about sin and wickedness. But take heart because the one who knows the very number of hairs on your head also knows the depth of your pain and struggle. He is with you. He will pull you through. He never fails. He will not fail you. God sees; God hears, and God knows everything. His eyes are on you.

Prayer: Father, I thank you that your eyes are upon me and your ears are open to my cry. Amen.
