God's Word Will Always Be fulfilled
He (Nebuchadnezzar) carried into exile to Babylon the remnant, who escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and his successors until the kingdom of Persia came to power.
. . . In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:
This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:
" 'The LORD, the God of Heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build a temple for Him at Jerusalem in Judah. Any of His people among you may go up, and may the LORD their God be with them.' " 2 Chronicles 36:20-23

The LORD brought severe judgment on His people after they had repeatedly violated His covenant with them and turned a deaf ear to His numerous warnings. God used the Babylonians as the instrument of judgment. But even in judgment, He was merciful. God spoke and placed a limit of seventy years for the suffering of His people. The prophet Jeremiah had a word from God concerning this judgment. He prophesied that the destitution would last for seventy years.
When the seventy years were up, God moved the heart of King Cyrus and used him as an instrument to bring relief and "deliverance" to His people. Seventy years seem like a rather long time. But God's word will always be fulfilled no matter what.
Has God spoken to you about a situation? Does it seem like an eternity? Does it seem like years and years of waiting for its fulfillment? Do you feel like relief and "redemption" will never come?
Well, don't give up! God's word will always be fulfilled no matter what! Wait patiently because the vision is for an appointed time. Though it tarries, wait for it, for it will surely come!

Prayer: Lord, please help me to wait steadfastly for your appointed time. Help me to wait on you as you work all things out for my good. In your own time, you do make all things beautiful. Thank you, Lord, Amen.
