Prepare To Receive The Plunder

". . . Then you and the elders [of Israel] are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God.' But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.
And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians." Exodus 3:18-22.

I always find it puzzling as to why God allows His children to go through severe challenges before He finally comes to the rescue! I have preached numerous messages on the value of adversity and how they strengthen and increase our faith and dependence on God. The benefits of going through adversity are endless but the reality of the experience is never pleasant. Sometimes, they even throw us into a "crisis of faith." Those are moments when we ask all the "why questions." Why is God allowing this? Why is God delaying? Why is the Adversary getting away with that? Why does God seem so silent?

Well, there might be challenges, adversities and delays. There might be severe opposition, but God is not unaware of it. The God who told Moses that He had come down to rescue His people was the same God who told Moses to expect resistance and opposition from Pharaoh!
He made it clear to Moses: "But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. So I will stretch forth my hand and strike the Egyptians . . .  After that, he will let you go."

God, your Redeemer lives. He has the path of your redemption all figured out. He knows the opposition you are encountering and He knows what needs to be done. Stand still and see His deliverance because He is about to stretch forth His hands and strike the Enemy and compel your release from his clutches. Don't lose heart. Deliverance is on the way.

But then there is more! You will not be released empty-handed. Your release will be accompanied by plunder from the camp of the Enemy. God will restore whatever the Enemy has stolen from you! Prepare for restoration. Prepare to receive the plunder. God has it all figured out. You will not leave empty-handed. Amen.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you have my redemption all figured out. In the end, you always win. I wait with joy at the plunder you are about to bring my way. Help me to use it for your divine purposes just as the Israelites used the plunder to build your Tabernacle. Amen.
