My Experience is Undeniable

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind, "Give glory to God by telling the truth," they said.  "We know this man is a sinner."
He replied, "Whether He is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I know. I was blind but now I see!" (John 9:24-25)

There is a saying that, "A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument."

In this passage in John, the Pharisees were questioning the authenticity and righteousness of Jesus because He had healed a blind man on the Sabbath. The Pharisees claimed that Jesus was a sinner and was not from God because He did not keep the Sabbath.
They tried to get the man who had been healed to side with them but he gave them a simple answer, "Whether He is a sinner or not, I do not know. One thing I know. I was blind but now I see!"

What happens when your faith in God is questioned?
What happens when people make fun of truths that you hold dear because they do not see as you see and do not understand as you do? Do you cave in under pressure? What kind of defense do you mount in the face of such mockery of your faith?

The story of the blind man above gives us a powerful lesson: our experience with Jesus can never be dismantled by the force of any intellectual argument because "a man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument."

May the power of your personal encounter with Jesus so embolden you that no matter what opposition you face, you will stand firm against the arguments of your detractors because your experience with Jesus is undeniable.

Prayer: Father, I thank you that I can say with certainty that "once I was spiritually blind but now I see." Please grant me the boldness to stand strong in my experience with Christ in light of all the mockery that we face in an increasingly godless world. I ask this in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
