Take Refuge in God

I trust in the LORD for protection.
So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!
The wicked are stringing their bows . . .  They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.
The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?"
But the LORD is in His Holy Temple; the LORD still rules from Heaven.
. . . The LORD examines both the righteous and wicked. He hates those who love violence.       . . . For the Righteous LORD loves justice. The virtuous will see His face.  (Psalm 11 NLT).

Jesus prayed a very strategic prayer for His disciples and all His future followers in John 17:15. He said to His Father, "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one."

Violence and lawlessness are nibbling away at the peace, sanity, and tranquility of society.
The resources of government are being disproportionately consumed by the need for the surveillance and security of nations. We have cameras watching cities in many countries to keep an eye on the "Bad Guys."  You never know when someone will undertake a mass shooting or drive a car or truck to mow down precious and innocent lives on a busy street.
The foundations of law and order are fast collapsing as humans dethrone God and enthrone themselves in society.

So what can the righteous do? Do we live in fear and trembling? Do we allow our hearts to melt in fear like water? Do we run away to live in enclaves and communes like some are doing?
No! Jesus has prayed to the Father on our behalf. Jesus has prayed for the Father to protect us from the evil one.
Take refuge in God everyday. He still rules from Heaven. He will take care of the wicked.
God is your protection. Take refuge in Him.

Prayer: Father, you are my refuge and source of protection. Though all things might shake and even collapse around me, my trust in you remains unshaken because you have promised never to leave nor forsake me. Amen.
