Create a Universal Chorus of Praise

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. For you have upheld my right and my cause . . .
The LORD reigns forever . . . He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your Name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. (Psalm 9:1-4; 7-10).
Scripture is replete with how passionate God is about defending the helpless and oppressed.
David pauses, in this Psalm, to give thanks to God for defeating his enemies and upholding his cause.
However, David is not just focusing on his personal vindication by God. David rejoices and gives thanks in light of God's general righteousness in being a refuge for all who are oppressed.
So he thanks God for not forsaking all those who trust in Him.

As you pause to thank God for the many ways in which He has upheld your personal right and defended your cause, would you do so in light of all that He does for the oppressed around the world? Would you praise Him on behalf of the countless millions who are also rejoicing because God has been good to them? Would you create a universal chorus of praise to God?

I believe there is a very unique fellowship that we create with God when we praise Him in light of His universal goodness to all who trust Him, and not just His goodness to us in our individual situations. Create a universal chorus of praise. For our God is good to all.

Prayer: Father, like David, I thank you for being a refuge for the oppressed and a stronghold for all who trust in you. I join the many voices around the world whose cause you have upheld. Righteous God, may you take delight in our universal chorus of praise. Amen
