It Pleases God To Bless You

Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, He did not resort to divination as at other times, but turned his face toward the wilderness. When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him and he spoke his message:
"The prophecy of Balaam...the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly, the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty…
"How beautiful are your tents… Like valleys they spread out…
Water will flow from their buckets…
Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness -- who dares to rouse them?
May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"
Numbers 24:1-9

These were "involuntary" words of blessing from the lips of Balaam over Israel. Balaam had been hired by Balak to curse Israel but the intended curse became a blessing! Balak was so infuriated by this that he burned with anger against Balaam and said: "I summoned you to curse my enemies, but you have blessed them these three times. Now leave at once and go home!"

What does God see when He looks at His children? God sees a blessed people. That is why God prevented Balaam from cursing Israel. Balaam, "The one whose eye sees clearly, who sees a vision from the Almighty, saw a people blessed by God and echoed it in words:
"How beautiful are your tents…
Water will flow from their buckets…
They have the strength of a wild ox…
Like a lion, they crouch and lie down…
Like a lioness -- who dares to rouse them?"

Why these words of blessing from the lips of a corrupt prophet? Because Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel! He had no choice but to voice out what he saw -- a blessed people!

Child of God, it pleases God to bless you!
When God looks at you, He sees a blessed child of His, not a cursed person.
That is why Balaam concluded by saying: "May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"  May your adversaries become your advocates and may they pronounce blessings on your life!
It pleases God to bless you. Receive and walk in your intended blessings today!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I am blessed by you. Thank you for giving me the strength of a wild ox and allowing water to flow copiously from my buckets. Amen.
