The land of the living is the world in which we live. The land of the living refers to the reality of daily living. The land of the living refers to the land of real life with its attendant ups and downs, joys and sorrows, mountain top and valley experiences; riches and poverty; good and evil; fulfilled expectations and dashed hopes; friends and enemies…
The land of the living is fraught with all kinds of uncertainties. Unless one is deeply confident of who holds his life, it is easy to lose hope in the face of inevitable challenges, disappointments and even failures. This can make us fearful of the future! The uncertainties of tomorrow can sap the confidence out of us!
But David knew who was in control of his life. He knew that his life was in the hands of the Most High God and therefore there was no need to be afraid of tomorrow. So David declared with great assurance: "I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." He spoke to his soul: "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
Child of God: Wait for the LORD! Tell your soul to be strong and take confidence and wait for the LORD. God will not disappoint you. God will come through at the right time. The times and seasons of your life are securely in His hands. He is too good to be unkind to you, and too wise to make a mistake. He is working all things out for your good. Don't allow anxiety to rob you of the joy of living in peace. You will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD. Don't be afraid! Wait for the LORD! He will come through for you.
