The Vision Will Be Fulfilled

When Hiram King of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon, because he had always been on friendly terms with David. Solomon sent back this message to Hiram:
"You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when He said, 'Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.'
So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians."
When Hiram heard Solomon's message, he was greatly pleased and said, "Praise be to the LORD today, for He has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation."
. . . The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and workers from Byblos cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.    I Kings 5:1-18.
Building the temple to "host" the Presence of God was the most significant accomplishment of Solomon. It is interesting that Hiram, King of Tyre, remarked upon hearing of Solomon's desire to build the temple: "Praise be to the LORD today, for He has given Solomon a wise son to rule over this great nation." Hiram considered Solomon to be wise because he saw in him, a king who was seeking to "establish" a dwelling place for God amidst His people -- a place of worship.

Without hesitation, Hiram, extended help to Solomon by providing skilled workers to cut and prepare the timber and stone for that massive and impressive project that took several years to accomplish.

I find a rather interesting insight in Solomon's initial appeal to Hiram when he asked him for help. Solomon remarked that, "because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster."

Many times, the vision we have from God can be delayed or even derailed because of distractions from the Enemy. Satan has numerous ways of waging war against us from all sides so that we are unable to focus on what God has placed in our hearts to do. But no matter how many attacks he, Satan, throws at us, God will ultimately give us rest on all sides so that His purpose for us will be fulfilled. God will ultimately put our enemies under our feet for His sake.

May God grant you peace and victory on all sides like He did for Solomon so that you can build what He has placed in your heart. May God bring you a Hiram who will supply all the timber and skilled workers you need to accomplish the vision He has given you.
Take heart, the vision will be fulfilled. Hiram and the resources are on the way.

Prayer: Father, I ask that you grant me the rest and the resources I need to accomplish the vision you have placed in my heart. Subdue every opposition so that I can have peace to pursue and accomplish that which you have called me to do. Amen.
