Scripture of the Day || October 12th, 2017
Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel: “This is what the LORD commands: When a man makes a vow to the LORD or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.
God is a Promise Keeper. He never breaks His word!
In fact, the Bible states: “God is not human that He should lie, not a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? (Num. 23:19). Our God is a God of absolute integrity. There is no shadiness in Him at all! The reason why we can count on the promises of God is because God always fulfills His word!
Scripture tells us that, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are”Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God”
Because God is absolutely trustworthy, we can always count on His word with an “Amen.”
But how about you and I? Can God count on us to fulfill the promises we make to Him?
Can God count on us to fulfill our promise of witnessing to others about Jesus and winning souls into His Kingdom? Can God count on us to fulfill our promise to live holy and righteous lives for His glory? Can God count on us to fulfill our marital vows and walk in faithfulness and purity? Can God count on us to raise our children in godliness? Can God count on us to be financially faithful to Him so His work can be done?
Keeping the promises we make to God is a vital spiritual necessity because we enter into a pact with divinity which should never be taken lightly. God counts on our partnership to carry out His agenda on earth. If God places a vow, obligation or desire on your heart, He will always give you the grace to fulfill it. Never renege on your promises to God. Step out and fulfill it and watch God surprise you beyond your imagination.
God is a Promise Keeper. How about you and I? Are you a promise keeper?
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for being a Promise Keeper. I confess that I have not always faithfully kept my promises to you. Please give me the grace to keep my word to you. Amen.
