June 5th, 2017 || Scripture of the Day
Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband. Enlarge the place of your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left…Do not be afraid, you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace, you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
When Israel sinned against God, God allowed their enemies to conquer and send them off into exile. But even in exile, God gave them a word of hope through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah prophesied that there was a future glory awaiting Israel. The barren were to sing and rejoice in anticipation of numerous children. By faith, the people were to build bigger dwellings to accommodate the anticipated blessings. God told them not to be afraid because they would not be put to shame. Their former disappointments would be washed away.
Encourage yourself with these words today. Tell yourself that no matter how barren your situation looks like, God is capable of bringing you so much fruit that you will need to expand your dwellings to accommodate the increase. God is assuring us that we will neither be put to shame nor suffer humiliation. May you expand substantially to the glory of God. May you expand in your Time, Talents and Treasures; and may God use your increase to bless many lives!
Prayer: Father, Jesus said it is to the Father’s glory that I bear much fruit. I pray for increased fruit in my life. I pray for expansion in my time, talents and treasures. I ask that all the increase you bring into my life will be used to serve your Kingdom purposes. I ask all this in the mighty Name of Jesus.
